Aircraft crashes at race circuit Pilot dies in aerobatic display

A light aircraft has crashed at Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire. A woman pilot died when a light aircraft crashed during an aerobatic display at Silverstone race circuit.
Northamptonshire Police said the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) and Thames Valley Police were investigating the incident. Thames Valley Police were notified at 1212 BST and officers are at the scene of crash in Dadford Road, Buckingham.
A spokesman said: "We are currently dealing with an incident at Silverstone Circuit involving a crashed aircraft. The force said an aircraft taking part in an aerobatic show at Silverstone had come down on the circuit.
"This matter is being attended to by the AAIB and will be dealt with by Thames Valley Police." The pilot, an American woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators from the Civil Aviation Authority are on their way to the site.
Thames Valley Police would not comment on the crash or say if there had been any injuries. No one else was injured in the incident, police said.
