Body of man found in Armagh river

The body of a young man, believed to be in his late teens, has been recovered from the River Bann in County Armagh, police have said.

A report that someone had entered the water beside Derrycarne Road in Portadown was made on Saturday morning.

After a search a body was recovered at about 1300 BST.

Police are investigating the death, and have warned the public about the dangers of rivers which have swollen because of heavy rain.
