Police are hunting a man who jumped into a pregnant woman's car in Dundee, robbed her and stole her vehicle.

Tayside Police said the 31-year-old woman was in her Black Subaru Impreza on Cardean Street when the carjacker struck, at about 1225 BST on Saturday.

Officers said the man, aged between 16 and 20, got in the passenger door and threatened her with a weapon.

He forced her out and drove off into Balmore Street. The car was discovered a short time later in Crescent Lane.

Police said the robber was small in stature, of slim build, with short, red hair and a freckled complexion.

He was wearing a light coloured shell suit top and matching bottoms.

A spokesman added: "Tayside Police are currently carrying out inquiries to establish the identity of this male along with door-to-door inquiries at both Cardean Street and Crescent Lane.

"Tayside Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident, the vehicle being abandoned or have information concerning the identity of the suspect."
