Ch Insp Phil Vickers said the youngster had suffered serious injuries. The girl was later transferred by helicopter to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, which has a specialist head injury unit.
It is understood she has a bleed on her brain, following what is thought to have been a tragic accident.
A statement from Lincolnshire Police said: "The scene has been secured and officers are investigating the cause of the fall from a first-floor flat."
