A five-year-old boy has died after being shot in the head with an air rifle, it has emerged today. A five-year-old boy has died after being shot in the head with an air rifle during a family visit to friends in rural Wiltshire.
Jonathon Cook, from Fovant near Tisbury, was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, where he died earlier today. Jonathon Cook, from Ealing in west London, was shot at about 1200 BST on Monday in the garden of a house in Fovant, near Tisbury, in Wiltshire.
Police were called out to the incident in the family's back garden at just after 1200 BST on Monday. The child was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, where he died in the afternoon.
The death is not currently being treated as suspicious. Police are preparing a report for the coroner. The death is being investigated but not currently treated as suspicious.
