Matt Conway, the superintendent of the Derby public school system, said that he spoke with the father of the children on Sunday. The family had recently relocated to Derby from New York and had yet to enroll in Derby schools, he said.
“We’ll be connecting with them tomorrow to make sure that they have grief counseling services available to them,” Mr. Conway said.
