A Glasgow teenager has admitted carrying a machete after police traced him through a photograph posted on the internet. Jordan Dunsmore, 18, from the Gorbals area, was pictured brandishing the weapon on social networking site Bebo. At Glasgow Sheriff Court, he admitted possessing the machete in June. Sheriff Martin Jones deferred sentence on Dunsmore, who has a previous knife conviction, until next month and remanded him in custody. Prosecutor John Bedford told the court that officers were carrying out a check of the networking site when they spotted Dunsmore with the machete. Mr Bedford said: "Officers were carrying out an operation targeting individuals depicting themselves online carrying out a variety of offences. "The officers were able to identify the accused from the photograph and later attended at his home address. "They questioned the accused on the photograph and Mr Dunsmore admitted to possessing the machete. He was then cautioned and charged." |
