The following comments reflect the balance of opinion we have received so far:
I HAVE REGISTERD. IT WAS NOT THAT STRESSFUL AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE BUT I CONTRIBUTED 20 NAIRA TO BUY FUEL FOR THE STAND-BY GENRATOR WHEN THE OFFICIALS WERE ABOUT TO PACK UP DUE TO POWER FAILUREorusi otejiri, UGHELLI/NIGERA
I finally registered on Saturday 27th January after weeks of trying to locate the INEC officials. I had to queue for almost nine hours as there was only one registration centre to cover thousands of residents. A lot of these capturing machines have ended up in the houses of prominent politicians who use it to register voters illegally.KATE GODWIN-UZOR, Port harcourt, Nigeria
It was peaceful and very well organised. Surprisingly so. !!!adesua dozie, Lagos, Nigeria
I registered for the Nigerian general Election without stress, that was because I registered quite early. Those that are find it difficult are those registering now that its almost the closing date. Most Nigerian are registering not b'cos they want to vote, but because government said salary would be paid to only those that registerChinedu Okereke, Calabar, Cross River, Nigeria
I have registered on Friday last week but the large turnout of people was very amazing. The INEC officials whom were registering us even went on to request the each and every one of us should pay N200 for the purchase of Fuel for there was no source of power in our location. I had no alternative than to pay the money.Amobi Marcel, Onitsha, Nigeria
Some of us were not given printed registration card in Minna Niger State. The official said there was no ink in the printer again. They only registered us on the system, but asked us to come back for the printed copy, but up till now we are yet to receive itObalola, Nigeria
I registered about 3 weeks ago after friends had been bothering me to register. Just about 50 meters from my home. There was only one person ahead of me and it was a pretty straightforward and simple process. Fill a simple form, sit, smile, take picture, thumb print on a form and collect a temporary voter's card with your smiley face on it. Took about 8 minutes.Tonna Ezumba, Lagos, Nigeria
i believe that any one who wishes to register can always get him/her self registered,
as for me,i registered on 01/01/2007 and i didnt spent up to 2mins before i got registered,
i still believe that with this additional days ,any Nigeria who really want to participate on 2007 election can always find registration unit all over Nigeria.okenwa chris, fct abuja
