Version 0 of 1.

A son has told how he rescued his elderly parents after a car crashed into their Berkshire home.

The Audi smashed into the front room of the bungalow in Wokingham Road, Earley, near Reading, at about 0315 BST.

Gary Brown said his main concern was to get his parents Ken, 80, and Sylvia, 81, out of their bedroom in case the car caught fire.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, Thames Valley Police said.

'Quite frightening'

Mr Brown, who was in the house after recently moving back in with his parents, said: "It was like a tank coming into the house.

"To get through the front wall and into the lounge it was quite frightening actually.

"But my main concern was trying to get my parents out of their bedroom in case the car caught fire."

Fire crews were called to the scene to make the vehicle safe while police carried out the investigation. Nobody was injured.
