Additions Childcare, in Quedgeley, was closed after two men linked to the after-school club were arrested on suspicion of computer-related offences. Police are also searching other properties in the city. There was no suggestion at this stage of children using the club suffering harm, police said. Ofsted said the club's registration had been suspended. Around 20 children aged between four and 11 attend the centre, which provides care in the morning and evening during school term, and all day during the school holidays. Parents were told on Wednesday the club would be closed until further notice. 'Shared information' A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said the two men, aged 20 and 23, live locally and were arrested in connection with computer-related offences. He added: "As part of the operation a number of addresses in the Gloucester area which are linked to the men are being searched, including an after-school club. "Although this investigation is being led by the force child protection unit, there is no evidence or information at this stage that suggests any harm has come to any children who use the club. "The management of the club are fully co-operating with the investigation. "Police have also been liaising with Ofsted and will continue to do so and share all information that impacts on the after-school club." An Ofsted spokesman said: "Additions' registration with Ofsted has been suspended after Ofsted had concerns suggesting that the children may be at risk. "A suspension means that the investigation can go ahead. We cannot comment on the concerns or the ongoing investigation." The 20-year-old has been bailed until November and the 23-year-old bailed until February. |
