Several people have been injured in a large fire that broke out at a house in the early hours. A woman has died and three people are critically ill following a house fire that broke out in the early hours.
Some of the casualties of the blaze in Erleigh Road, Reading, were seriously injured, and a family is being supported, Thames Valley Police said. The large blaze, which is not being treated as suspicious, was reported in Erleigh Road, Reading, shortly after 01:30 BST, Thames Valley Police said.
The fire service said the occupants were being treated in hospital. A woman, in her 60s, died of her injuries, the force added.
The fire, which started shortly after 01:00 BST, is now out. It was contained to one house and no adjoining properties were affected. Five other people - two adults and three children - were injured. Three are critically injured and are being treated in hospital.
