The theft from Graff jewellers, New Bond Street, on 6 August was thought to be the UK's biggest jewellery raid.

Courtney Lawrence, 30, from Ladbroke Grove, and Gregory Jones, 29, from Harrow, faced charges at Kingston Crown Court of conspiracy to rob.

Jamal Mogg, 42, from Bournemouth, Craig Calderwood, 26, and Solomun Beyene, 24, faced the same charge via video link.

Mr Calderwood, of no fixed address, and Mr Beyene, from St John's Wood, north London, also face one firearms charge.

All five men were remanded in custody, to return to the court on 23 October.

Forty-three items, including rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and watches, were stolen in the raid.
