A driver has been found guilty of causing the death of a 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in his car when it crashed. Lauren Roberts, of Cruden Bay, died after the collision on the A90 Aberdeen to Peterhead road in May last year. Paul McLean, 18, had denied causing death by dangerous driving during several days of evidence at the High Court in Aberdeen. Sentence was deferred for reports after the jury returned the verdict. 'Beautiful girl' At the time of Lauren's death, her parents Jon and Karen Roberts said in a statement that she was the "brightest, funniest, most beautiful girl any mum or dad could wish for". Witness Stacey Forman had told the trial she was "too scared" to ask the driver to slow down moments before the crash. She said: "I remember me and Lauren looking at each other and saying 'Oh my god'. "It was too fast. He was going too fast." |
