A large explosion has rocked an area of northern Afghanistan following a Nato airstrike on a stolen fuel tanker. At least 90 people have been killed after a Nato air strike blew up a fuel tanker hijacked by the Taliban in northern Afghanistan, officials say.
Afghan officials in the local area said some 90 people had been killed, but the numbers are not yet confirmed.

District police chief Basharyar Parwani told AFP news agency that Taliban insurgents tried to drive away a fuel tanker that they hijacked on a highway. The governor of Kunduz said the tanker was carrying jet fuel.
