Version 0 of 1.

Police have recovered the bodies of two apprentice jockeys from flats in a North Yorkshire town.

Jamie Kyne, 18, and Jan Wilson, 19, died in an arson attack on the flats in Norton, near Malton on Saturday.

Police had been unable to recover the bodies because of structural damage caused by the blaze.

A man in his 30s who was arrested in connection with the incident has been released on bail, North Yorkshire Police said.

Post-mortem examinations are to be carried out on Monday morning.

A forensic examination of the flats at Buckrose Court is expected to take between one and three days, police said.

They said they were not expecting to find any other casualties in the building.

'Sad loss'

The racing world has been paying tribute to the young jockeys.

Silences were held at race meetings across the country and many jockeys wore black armbands as a mark of respect.

Jockeys Kieren Fallon and Mick Kinane were among many to pay tribute.

Fallon said: "It is very sad and my heart goes out to the family, friends and relatives of the poor kids."

Kinane said: "I was very, very saddened to hear the news before racing at the sad loss of two young riders.

"I would like to express my deepest sympathies to their families."

Floral tributes to the pair have been laid outside The Tannery flats in Norton.

North Yorkshire Police, who have yet formally to identify the victims, have appealed for witnesses to contact them
