At least 25 people have been killed in a series of bomb and mortar attacks across Iraq, officials say. At least 45 people are reported to have been killed and 150 hurt in a double suicide bombing near a market in the Iraqi town of Hilla.
Police said at least 15 people died in bomb blasts in the town of Hilla, 120km (75 miles) south of Baghdad. More than 25 other people were reported hurt. A police source told the BBC an officer tried to stop the first attacker detonating himself, but as he did so the other bomber exploded his device.
Earlier, six people died when a bomb hit a minibus in Baghdad's mainly Shia Karrada district. Three more people died in a car bomb in Rusfasi. It came as at least 10 other people were killed on another day of violence across the country.
