Search teams are in a race against time to find a submersible that went missing during a dive to the Titanic's wreck on Sunday. Debris has been found in the search for the missing Titan submersible, including parts of its outside cover, according to a friend of passengers on board.
Contact with the small sub was lost about an hour and 45 minutes into its dive in the mid-Atlantic. Dive expert David Mearns told the BBC that the president of the Explorers Club, which is connected to the diving and rescue community, says the debris included a landing frame and a rear cover from the submersible.
A massive search operation being run from Boston, Massachusetts, is attempting to locate the vessel and the five people on board. The news follows a massive search operation to find the vessel and its five passengers, after they went missing while on a dive to view the Titanic wreckage. The US Coast Guard is expected to give an update later on Thursday.
