Drugs find as car runs checkpoint

Suspected drugs have been found by police after a car drove through a checkpoint in north Belfast.

Police said they were carrying out a routine check of cars on North Queen Street on Friday night when a Toyota Starlet ran through the checkpoint.

It was followed to Jellicoe Avenue where the occupants ran off. Suspected herbal cannabis and cash were found.

Two men, one aged in his late teens and the other in his early 20s, were arrested.
