Labour's shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson says retaining more teachers is the best recruitment strategy.

Speaking to Laura Kuenssberg Ms Phillipson said it would be compulsory for new teachers to have a formal teaching qualification and Labour's plans would "restore the status of the profession".
