A police spokesman said inquiries were still taking place and that a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal. The head teacher of Kilchoan Primary School, where Caleb was a nursery pupil, paid tributes to the youngster.
Lynne McLuckie said he was a fun-loving, happy boy who had a "wee sparkle" in his eyes.
Local minister, the Reverend Alison Grainger, said the community was devastated by his death.
She said: "For a small community it's an enormous loss. For the family, I can't imagine how devastated they must be."
