Union representatives are meeting officials from Aberdeen City Council to discuss the prospect of more major budget cuts.

Unison will be briefed on how further reductions to services are likely to have an impact on council staff, many of whom the union represents.

Chief executive Sue Bruce last week asked departments to look for potential efficiencies of 5%.

It is thought this could see cuts to frontline services and possibly jobs.

The council is expecting a reduction in the annual grant it gets from the Scottish Government when that funding announcement is made next month.

The council was recently praised for beginning to turn around its finances.

Aberdeenshire Council has already warned it is facing a tighter budget too.
