Law will not face assault charge

The Crown Prosecution Service said it will "take no further action against the actor" and that "Mr Law had no intention to assault anyone". Law, 36, clashed with paparazzi outside a London club in July but his lawyer said the assault claim made against the actor was "nonsense". He is currently starring in Hamlet on New York's Broadway. In a statement, The CPS said: "A careful analysis of the specific evidence in this case, which included photographs and eye witness statements, indicates that Mr Law had no intention to assault anyone. "While Mr Law accepted that he may have come into contact with someone whilst attempting to make his way to his car, it is highly likely that a court would decide his actions were reasonable given that his path was deliberately impeded by a crowd of photographers." In 2007, Law was arrested for allegedly assaulting another photographer outside his home. Once again no charges were brought against him. Law is expecting a child with US model Samantha Burke, following a brief relationship. |
