Firefighters battle school fire Homes evacuated after school fire

Two schools have been closed as firefighters battle a fire at one of them. People living near a school which caught fire are being asked to leave their homes after fears were raised over gas cylinders on the site.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to a blaze at Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School, Tondu, Bridgend, at around 0300 BST. The fire at Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School at Tondu, Bridgend started at around 0300 BST.
The school has closed, along with its neighbour Ynysawdre Comprehensive. Nearby homes are also being evacuated and there are road restrictions. It has since been put out but police are asking people living in around 80 homes nearby to leave because of the hazard of the gas cylinders.
Nearby Ynysawdre Comprehensive is closed as are roads around the area.
A cordon has also been put up around the site.
