A three-year-old girl and two women from Derbyshire have died in a car crash in New Zealand, police have said. A three-year-old girl and two women, all from the East Midlands, have died in a car crash in New Zealand.
The girl and the women, aged 60 and 68, who were on holiday, died when their car hit a power pole on Wednesday. Valerie Susan Bryan, 68, from Castle Donington, died in the crash along with her cousin Sera Eades, 60, and Mrs Eades' granddaughter Iva Harper.
Police said the driver, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital after suffering injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening. Police said they died when their car hit a power pole in the New Brighton area of Christchurch on Wednesday.

The crash happened at 1820 local time (0720 BST) as the car headed south on Estuary Road, New Brighton. The family, all from Leicestershire or Derbyshire, were visiting relatives and had arrived in the country a few days earlier.
