Detectives investigating the murder of a businessman found shot dead have questioned members of the public.

Victor Yuill's body was discovered last Sunday at his timber yard inthe Lanarkshire village of Rigside.

The 47-year-old father-of-three, who left his home in Lanark at about 1300 GMT that day, had been shot.

Police investigating the murder interviewed motorists and pedestrians between 1400 and 1800 GMT this Sunday in the area surrounding the scene.

Detective Superintendent George Lambie said: "Extensive inquiries have been ongoing throughout the past week and we are still trying to establish Mr Yuill's specific movements prior to his death and a motive for this crime.

"The purpose of the operation was to speak to pedestrians and motorists who may through habit travel the same route every week.

"Hopefully, we can jog their memories as they may without realising it haveseen something that is of interest to the police."
