A pipe-bomb has been found in north Belfast following a day-long security alert, the police have said. A coffee-jar bomb has been found inside a car in Newtownabbey, the police have said.
Two controlled explosions were carried out on a suspicious object, found in Waterloo Park off the Antrim Road. It was found in Rosstulla Drive, Jordanstown at about 1630 BST, and has been removed for examination by an Army bomb disposal team.
Police said that the "viable device" had been left near a house overnight and had been removed for further examination. A pipe-bomb was also found in north Belfast after a day-long security alert.
Police officers remain at the scene and are trying to establish a motive for the attack. Two controlled explosions were carried out on the device, found in Waterloo Park off the Antrim Road.
It has also been removed for further examination and police remain at the scene.
