Two prohibited pitbulls were recovered, and are now in the care of the SSPCA, after police searches at homes on the east of the capital on Thursday. The incident is alleged to have happened on Wednesday 9 September. Seven men, aged from 21 to 26, are expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later. Drugs, cash and suspected stolen goods were also recovered. Police charged the men under the Animal Health and Welfare Scotland Act 2006. A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: "We will work alongside our partner agencies to respond quickly and proportionately to all reports of animal cruelty, and we would encourage people to contact police when they have information about animals that may be at risk of harm." |
