He was one of three men who were taken to hospital after the collision which happened on the Ballycrochan Road in Bangor. He was one of three men taken to hospital after the collision which happened at the junction of Ballycrochan Road and Hawe Road.

The Ballycrochan Road is currently closed between the Hawe Road and High Donaghadee Road. The injuries sustained by the other two men are not believed to be life threatening. The road has now reopened.
