Tweed in court over rape charge

Jack Tweed, the widower of reality television star Jade Goody, has appeared in court charged with rape.

The 22-year-old from Essex appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.

He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody. He will return to court for a plea and case management hearing on 16 November.

The alleged offence took place at Mr Tweed's home in Woodford Green on 4 September.
