Husband jailed in doctor sex plot

The husband of a woman who secretly filmed herself performing a sex act on her doctor has been jailed after he used the tape in a blackmail attempt.

Terry Burton, 51, of Slough, admitted he approached the doctor last year with the footage and demanded £20,000 to keep quiet about it.

He was jailed for three-and-a-half years at Reading Crown Court.

His wife Marion Burton, who filmed her doctor as he administered botox, was cleared of blackmail on 10 September.

'Intimidated and threatened'

Mrs Burton, a grandmother who works as a dominatrix under the name Mistress J, told the court during her trial she secretly filmed one encounter at the clinic in Berkshire to expose the doctor's practices.

She caught the doctor on a hidden camera in the compromising position in October last year, the court was told.

Jurors heard how her husband accosted the doctor with the footage and threatened to pass it to national newspapers, the General Medical Council (GMC) and to the doctor's wife if he failed to comply with his demands.

Mrs Burton was cleared of any involvement in the blackmail

But fearing for his career and for his personal safety, Doctor X, who cannot be identified, informed the police, the court was told.

Doctor X previously told the jury he felt "intimidated and threatened" by the blackmail attempt.

He said he did not initiate sexual contact with Mrs Burton, and stressed that he did not do anything without her consent.

Mrs Burton said after her trial she intended to inform the GMC and the police about the doctor's actions.
