An appeal to trace two sisters who have gone missing from their home in Greater Manchester has been issued by police.

Farrah Khan, aged 14, and 12-year-old Anisae Khan were last seen at their home in Appleton Street, Crumpsall, at about 2330 BST on Monday, police said.

Neither girl has been missing before and one of them left wearing pyjamas and no footwear.

The pair were last seen running towards Cardinal Street after they had left their home.

'Not in trouble'

Farrah is described as mixed race, 5ft 7in (1.7m) tall, of athletic build.

She has shoulder length brown hair with blonde streaks and was last seen wearing black and white pyjamas.

Anisae is also mixed race, 5ft 4in (1.63m) tall and of slim build. She has shoulder length dark brown hair and was wearing blue jeans and light-coloured top.

Sgt David Bradburn, based at Collyhurst police station, said: "Neither girl has been missing before and, having already spent one night away from home, their mother is understandably keen for them not to be away for another.

"I would urge whoever knows the whereabouts of the girls to call me.

"They will not be in any trouble, we just want to return them safely home."
