"Our challenge is to continue the business of policing, making people safe, arranging the next DPP, and continuing to be held to account by the public and continuing to deliver the policing they want.
"People want police officers visible in their neighbourhoods, delivering first class policing, making the roads safe, putting drug dealers behind bars, and catching criminals.
"That's what I joined the police to do, that's what the police service aims to do, and we won't be deflected by a few idiots."
