Passing sentence, Judge Nicholas Browne QC, said the robberies were the "worst I have ever encountered" and told Daniel "you are the most prolific violent robber to be sentenced in London in recent years".

Addressing the brothers the judge said: "You have committed strangulation robberies which are in a league of their own.
"Your offending pattern was ruthless, predatory and vicious. That you were both high on crack cocaine is no excuse.
"It is by sheer good fortune that you did not kill, permanently injure or maim any one of your many victims."
In some cases they threatened to cut victims' fingers off if rings could not easily be removed. Daniel also attacked an 84-year-old whom he strangled and put his fingers down her throat.

BBC correspondent Ms Myska said she was grabbed from behind as she locked her car and was threatened before her wedding ring was stolen.
The court also heard a witness statement from Shamin Akhter who described an attack by three men in the lobby of her flat in Highgate last May.
A gold watch and a pair of diamond earrings, each worth £10,000, were taken from her. CCTV footage showing Ms Akhter's car being followed was shown in court.
