Four trawlermen had to be rescued when their fishing boat began sinking off the Tyneside coast.

The skipper of the Eyemouth-based "Margarets", which had earlier sailed from Blyth, made an emergency call when water started to fill the fish room.

Coastguards immediately requested the assistance of the Tynemouth RNLI all-weather lifeboat.

A crew member boarded the trawler with a salvage pump, and the boat was escorted back to Blyth harbour.
