It follows an attack on a woman, who is in her 20s. Chris Doherty from Oldcastle Road in Newtownstewart spoke only to confirm he understood the charges.
The attack happened on the Old Castle Road, Newtownstewart, in the early hours of Saturday. It follows an alleged attack on a woman in her 20s on the Oldcastle Road, Newtownstewart, in the early hours of Saturday 26 September.
Police have appealed to anyone who knows anything about the attack to contact them. Mr Doherty was remanded in custody to appear before Strabane Magistrates Court by videolink on Thursday.
His solicitor said he would be applying for bail.
