Police say a church-going teenager shot dead in his bed may not have been the intended target of two gunmen who forced their way into his home. Detectives investigating the murder of a teenager shot dead in his bedroom said they have "established a link" with a fatal stabbing at the weekend.

A man was fatally stabbed on Saturday and another was shot dead on Sunday. A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We can confirm we have established a link between the fatal shooting of Michael Dosunmu on Tuesday 6 February in Peckham and the fatal stabbing of the 21-year-old man on 3 February."
In Tuesday's incident Michael's older sister was in the house at the time. She gave him first aid and he was able to speak a few words to her. Officers said they were sure his house was specifically targeted, but were investigating whether the 15-year-old was killed in a case of mistaken identity.

Ch Supt Malcolm Tillyer said: "Michael was an innocent boy who has been killed in cruel and tragic circumstances and my heart goes out to his family."
He also said that this type of crime was down to a very small minority and that the majority of the community was hard working and law abiding.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "At this stage we believe the house in Diamond Road was targeted specifically by the gunmen but we are investigating whether or not the victim was the intended target."

South London has been hit by a spate of killings since the weekend. Orando Madden, 23, of Wodehouse Avenue, Peckham, has been charged with the murder of the 21-year-old fatally stabbed on Saturday.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a man in his 40s was shot dead and another injured at a flat less than a mile from Diamond Road in Flamborough House, Clayton Road.
Another teenage boy, 16-year-old James Andre Smarrt-Ford, was shot dead at Streatham Ice Rink on Saturday night.
