Detectives investigating the death of a Lithuanian man whose body was found in a field in Leicestershire have charged a man with murder.

The body of 23-year-old Gediminas Kristukas was found near Hungarton on Christmas Day in 2008.

Mr Kristukas had lived in Boston, Lincolnshire, since September 2008 and worked in a factory.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in Calais, France, and returned to Leicestershire where he was charged.

Mr Kristukas was last seen on Christmas Eve last year, at about 1400 GMT, when he told his landlady he was going to the cash point at a nearby supermarket.

Police said his body was found in a field "in an extremely remote area" near Quenby Hall.

His car, a blue Audi A6 with Lithuanian number plates and split five-spoke alloy wheels, has not been found.
