Detective Inspector Richard Budd of Avon and Somerset Police said: "We appear to have a skull and other parts of a human body.
"We're in the process of recovering the bones and they'll be taken to a laboratory where they'll be subject to a much more intensive investigation to try to determine who this person is.
"We have bones that have been scattered around as well as their presence in a black bin liner.
"The questions I want answered are 'who is this' and 'how did that body come to be there'.
"Also whether it's been buried there or just deposited on the surface.
"We are dealing with it as a suspicious death but it's too early to say whether in fact any crime has been committed." |
