A couple from West Yorkshire whose bad wedding photos became worldwide news have recreated their special day with another photographer.

Marc and Sylvia Day won compensation after their photographer took shots of guests with heads cut off and a video in which the tripod fell over.

After the Wakefield couple's ordeal hit the news several local businesses offered money towards a second wedding.

Mr and Mrs Day said people had contacted them from around the world.

"Since everybody saw us, and it has gone all around the world, people have been coming up and giving us offers to do all sorts of things", Mr Day said.

Second chance

He added: "We apologise to anyone we may have upset by turning them down but it's just been overwhelming. Thank you all so very much."

The Day's wedding photograph horror story made news around the world

The couple originally paid photographer Gareth Bowers £1,400 for wedding photographs but later sued him for breach of contract.

They won £950 in compensation.

On Monday the pair renewed their vows at the St Peter the Apostle Church in Wakefield and then had a reception at a nearby hotel.

Photographer Mark Wilkinson said it was unusual for couples, and photographers, to have a second chance to get it right.

"It's very important. You only get one shot at it, there's no going back. Or there shouldn't be", he said.
