Widespread icy patches are expected to be a hazard for drivers on Friday morning, following the first heavy snow of winter. Wales is bracing itself for more wintry weather as forecasters predict another band of heavy snow moving from the south-west during the day.
Gritters have been out across north Wales overnight, driving in patches of freezing fog and ice. Early flurries in the morning will be followed in the afternoon with heavier snowfall as on Thursday, with up to 15 cm (6in) possible in places.
The Met Office is warning ice may develop on untreated surfaces. Overnight temperatures fell to -3C in places and drivers are warned to beware widespread icy patches.

BBC Wales meteorologist Derek Brockway said the worst of the snow was now over, although more could follow at the weekend. The Met Office is warning ice may develop on untreated surfaces.
He said: "Any freezing fog patches will slowly lift, with the east rather grey and misty. Western parts should be a little brighter." The Met Office website said: "Snow will spread north during Friday morning and become heavy at times giving further accumulations of 2 to 5cm in places and locally 10 to 15cm over higher ground.
Freezing snow and ice was the main hazard for drivers in Thursday's evening's rush hour as the snowfall melted away.
On the railways, First Great Western said overnight signalling problems had led to the cancellation of the 0525 and 0730 Swansea to London Paddington services.
The signalling problems had since been rectified, the firm said, and advised customers to switch to the 0800 Swansea to London Paddington services. The 0600 and 0700 services travelled as normal.
