Health Minister Michael McGimpsey apologised for a delay in telling the O'Kane family Orla had swine flu. Her family said she had "brought much joy and richness" to her relatives and friends.
Her family was told she had swine flu two days after her funeral. In a statement the family said she was a much-loved daughter, sister, aunt and grand-daughter.
"The passing of Ashleigh is felt most deeply by her family, who grieve for her at this time," the Lynch family said.
"The family wish to express thanks to all of the medical staff who have cared with such great compassion for Ashleigh. They are also appreciative of the love and care of their family and friends at this most difficult of times."
Ashleigh's family also requested that their privacy be respected as they attempt to come to terms with their loss.
