A mother and her two children remain seriously ill following a suspicious fire which killed their father at the family home in Lancashire. Fears are growing for the health of a woman after a suspected arson fire on the family home which killed her husband and injured their two children.

His wife, 39, son, aged eight and 14-year-old daughter were rescued by fire crews but are still in a "critical" condition in hospital, said police. Police said his wife, 39, was in a "very critical condition". Their son, eight, and daughter, 14, are receiving specialist treatment in Manchester.
The force and fire chiefs said the incident was of a "suspicious origin". Lancashire Police said it was treating the fire as suspicious.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service added: "We are investigating the fire together with Lancashire Police to establish if it was deliberate or not." It said it was still investigating the cause and possible motive for the attack.
Flames were seen shooting out of the front door of the house when fire crews arrived at 0130 BST. The couple also have an 18-year-old son, who is at university, and was not in the house at the time of the fire.

Musa Ismail Haldarvi, a friend of the family, paid tribute to the victim. Flames were seen shooting out of the front door of the house when firefighters arrived at 0130 BST.
Five fire crews battled the flames, breaking down both the front and back doors of the property to rescue the family.
One of the injured children is understood to have been badly burnt by the flames.
Musa Ismail Haldarvi, a friend of the family, paid tribute to Mr Mohammed.
She told BBC News: "He was a very kind and very lovely gentleman.She told BBC News: "He was a very kind and very lovely gentleman.
