Tribute to flood tractor victim | |

Relatives of a farmer who died after his tractor was submerged in floods in Aberdeenshire have paid tribute to a "loving" man. | |
The body of 81-year-old Sandy Henderson was found in the tractor after it was recovered at Kintore on Friday. | |
It is thought he may have been trying to rescue cattle near the River Don when he was swept away on Thursday. | |
Daughter Shona said: "Sandy was a loving father and grandfather and great friend to many". | |
His daughter added: "Our whole family is in a state of shock and it is difficult to take in what has happened. | |

"It really is impossible to describe what we're experiencing at the moment and it will take a long, long time to be able to come to terms with this. | |
"Sandy was a fun-loving man who had an enormous appetite for life and his tragic loss will leave a huge hole in all our lives." | |
She went on: "His beloved grandchildren are absolutely heartbroken at the loss of their cherished grandfather. | |
"Sandy was a very special person who was loved by all those around him. He was well known in the farming community and was most at home when he was outside, working in the fresh air. Farming and his family really was Sandy's life. | |
"We would like to thank everyone for their help and support during this difficult time." | |
A major search for Mr Henderson involving an RAF helicopter, police divers and coastguards had been launched on Thursday. | |

It resumed on Friday morning, and Grampian Police said the tractor had been recovered to the shallow flood waters on Friday afternoon and Mr Henderson's body was found within the cab. |
