The body of a man has been found in a tractor which was submerged in floods in Aberdeenshire. Relatives of a farmer who died after his tractor was submerged in floods in Aberdeenshire have paid tribute to a "loving" man.

A spokesman said: "Grampian Police can confirm that the tractor has now been recovered to the shallow flood waters and that the body of a man, believed to be that of Sandy Henderson, has been found within the cab. "It really is impossible to describe what we're experiencing at the moment and it will take a long, long time to be able to come to terms with this.

"Sandy was a very special person who was loved by all those around him. He was well known in the farming community and was most at home when he was outside, working in the fresh air. Farming and his family really was Sandy's life.
"We would like to thank everyone for their help and support during this difficult time."
