Murder charges over soldier death | |

A second man has appeared in court over the death of a soldier in Renfrewshire at the weekend. | |
Barry John McGrory, 28, from Erskine, was charged with the assault and murder of 28-year-old Scots Guardsman Paul McGee in Lochwinnoch on Sunday. | |
Co-accused Ian Wallace, 28, from Erskine, was also charged with murder and assault during an appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday. | |
Both men made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody. | |
Wallace is also alleged to have assaulted John Banach at the same time and place by punching him on the face and repeatedly attempting to punch him. | |
Guardsman McGee was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley after the attack in Lochwinnoch's McConnell Road. He died a short time later. | |
