Ramsay reveals cosmetic procedure

TV chef Gordon Ramsay has admitted to undergoing a cosmetic procedure on his chin after taking advice from music mogul Simon Cowell.

"My mother said they were smile lines," he told the Radio Times, referring to deep furrows on his chin.

"Simon Cowell suggested now I'm a success in America, I should do something, so I had a filler put under the deep crevices. It hurt," he said.

Ramsay said it had been the "year from hell" but he had a "lot of stamina".

"When I take a beating, I come back twice as strong."

The married father of four has been hit by allegations about his private life and criticised for supplying pre-cooked food in his pubs.

He told the Radio Times he does not short-change customers by serving food from a centralised kitchen in his pubs.

"Guys, get real. We also supply high-octane restaurants that I'll never admit to. You'd freak out if you knew which they were.

"But if one of my restaurants doesn't deliver the level of magic I expect, I'm mortified," he added.

Ramsay said his wife Tana was "brilliant" and that they had had "a lot of scrutiny" following the alleged affair.

"We have a right to a private life, but that hurricane made us incredibly closer with the support of friends like David and Victoria [Beckham] and our families."
