Grammy Awards honour music stars Dixie Chicks earn Grammys triumph

R&B singer Mary J Blige and rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers have won three prizes each at this year's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Country act The Dixie Chicks have swept the board at the Grammy Awards, sealing their comeback four years after causing uproar by attacking US policy in Iraq.
American Idol star Carrie Underwood and country band The Dixie Chicks also took home three awards apiece. The trio won five awards including best song, record and album. In 2003, they were heavily criticised for saying they were "ashamed" of US President Bush.
The ceremony was opened by reformed pop group The Police - one day before they are expected to announce a world tour. Mary J Blige and the Red Hot Chili Peppers won three prizes each.
