Two injured in separate shootings Mother mystified by son shooting
(40 minutes later)
Two men have been taken to hospital for treatment after being shot in the legs in separate gun attacks in Northern Ireland. The mother of a 24-year-old man shot at his west Belfast home has said she has no idea why her son was targeted.
In Londonderry, a 23-year-old man was shot after five men wearing scarves entered his house in the Iniscarn Crescent area of the Creggan estate. A masked gang burst into their home on the Rossnareen Road in Andersonstown at about 2100 GMT on Tuesday.

A 24-year-old man was shot by a masked gang about an hour later at his home on the Rossnareen Road in west Belfast. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The woman said her son has learning disabilities and has never been in any trouble.
Appealing for information, police said neither man's injuries were thought to be life-threatening. "I don't know why they came into my house - my son has learning disabilities, he's not a drug dealer," she said.
Ricocheted "My son has never been involved in anti-social behaviour - anyone on the estate can vouch for that."
The mother of the Derry victim told the BBC she had no idea why her son was targeted. She said the gang threatened to shoot her.
She said her 14-year-old daughter and two friends were held at gunpoint in the living room while her son was singled out in his bedroom. "I opened the door and two men pushed me into the hall, one pushed a gun into my face and ordered me up the stairs," she said.
A bullet went through the ceiling and ricocheted off a radiator, she said. The attack was condemned by SDLP councillor Tim Attwood, who said: "Criminal or dissident groups have no right to take the law into their own hands.

The 23-year-old's wounds include a fractured femur and he is due to undergo an operation on Wednesday.
Local residents are blaming the attack on a group known as Republican Action Against Drugs, which has been blamed for 12 similar attacks in the city in the past year.
Sinn Fein councillor Patricia Logue said: "This has not worked in the past and it certainly won't work in the future.
"The people of Derry no longer want their social problems dealt with in this manner."
