Detectives investigating the death of a teenager who was found with her throat cut in a pub car park have arrested a 20-year-old man.

The 18-year-old was found dying outside the Swan Hotel in Bradford Road, Liversedge, on Thursday night.

She was bleeding "horrendously" and clutching her throat, the pub landlady said. Attempts were made to save her, but she died later in hospital.

The man was arrested in Liversedge and is being questioned, police said.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the woman's identity was not being released at this time.

Detectives say they believe the teenager, who was from the local area, had walked along Holme Street before arriving at the car park.

Post-mortem tests were due to be carried out on Friday.
