The crash took place on Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, on Saturday A two-year-old boy has died and two adults are in a serious condition after a hit-and-run crash in Smethwick. The collision, involving a Toyota and a grey Porsche Cayenne, took place on Dartmouth Road just before 23:00 GMT on Saturday. Detectives said the driver of the Porsche, which had been stolen earlier in December, fled the scene. A woman, aged 29, and a 30-year-old man remain in a serious condition in hospital, while another man and woman, both 30, are stable. Police believe the Porsche was driving away from the island on Kenrick Way, when the crash took place. The road was closed in both directions while specialist reconstruction staff examined the scene, but has now reopened. Det Sgt Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "I would urge the driver of the Porsche to do the right thing and come and talk to us. "They made the wrong decision to run away and I'm asking them now to make the right one."
