Version 0 of 1.

One hundred and twenty jobs are under threat at Halifax's mortgage operations team base in Belfast's Gasworks.

The work carried out by the Belfast team is to be transferred to other sites within the Halifax Group in October 2010.

A spokesman said the majority of staff would be offered redeployment opportunities within the Belfast area.

However, he said "a small number of colleagues" would lose their jobs as a result of the move.

Halifax will continue to be based at the site.

"As always our preference is to manage role reductions through natural turnover, redeployment and voluntary redundancy," the spokesman said.

Halifax is a brand name of Bank of Scotland, a subsidiary of the Lloyds Banking Group.

Lloyds has announced that changes to come into effect by the end of 2010 will mean a net loss of 2,600 permanent jobs across the UK.
